Important Announcement: 2010-11 Kindergarten Pre-Registraton March 1st-5th
Kindergarten News
It is almost 100 th Day in kindergarten! We have been really busy working on Everyday Math and
Literacy Instruction.
To enhance our daily literacy activities, we utilize little readers, Lexia (a supplemental literacy
computer program), and Heggerty (a daily phonemic awareness program). We also have High Hat
once a week, which focuses on different sounds. We have also been very busy reading color/
number words and basic sight words.
Here are some ways you can help your child at home: encourage meaningful writing activities, read
every day with your child, and continue the Math at Home activities!
Thank you from the local food pantry
Dear Families,
Thank you so much for your donations of canned goods at the December Christmas concerts. The response was overwhelming! The three grade school concerts brought in approximately 1000 cans of food for the St. Joseph Community Food Pantry. The kindergarten alone brought in 268 cans.
I want to especially thank Mrs. Manwaring for this idea and for managing the food drive. We hope it can be an annual event. It is appreciated by those in need especially during the Christmas season.
Sincerely,
St. Joseph Community Food Pantry |

Nurse Notes
If your child experiences symptoms such as a fever with a cough, sore throat, runny nose, diarrhea or vomiting they are having a flu-like illness and need to stay home until they no longer have a temperature for over 24 hours while not using any fever reducing medication like Tylenol or Motrin. We are helping our local health department track flu like illnesses so when you call your child in absent please report what symptoms they are experiencing. |
